Cuban Olympic gold medalist boxer Andy Cruz banned from sports by the Castro dictatorship

Andy Cruz may have won a gold medal for the “Cuban Revolution” at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, but his failed attempt at escaping the Castro dictatorship has gotten him expelled from sports in Cuba.

Via CubaNet (my translation):

Boxer Andy Cruz, Olympic champion in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, has been expelled from sports in Cuba.

According to state-run media outlet JIT, the decision was made by the National Boxing Commission “as a result of exhaustive analyses initiated within the disciplinary commission of the national school.”

The report by JIT says: “The measure has been adopted due to his repeated instances of indiscipline, including his absence from the training sessions prior to the 2022 Playa Girón National Boxing Tournament and his non-participation in that event.”

In late June, the 26-year-old native of Matanzas was surprised and apprehended by Cuban authorities as he attempted to leave the country along with baseball prospect Cesar Yanquiel Hernandez. Both of them spent several days in prison.

For attempting to escape the Castro dictatorship, Andy Cruz now carries the status of “runaway slave” and his communist slave masters will make sure he pays the consequences for it.

  1. I’m sure Lebron James will be all over this. Or not.

Needless to say, since Cruz now qualifies as a bad Negro who has offended the memory of the late great Massah Castro, his sports career does NOT matter, same as his life.
