Charlie Crist picks running-mate who tweeted how Cubans ‘mourn’ the death of dictator Fidel Castro

Charlie Crist, the all-around slimy politico and Democrat candidate for Florida governor, has picked a running mate, and she’s a doozy. Not only is Karla Hernandez-Mats a teachers’ union boss who vehemently advocated for shutting down schools in Miami-Dade County during the pandemic, she also seemed more worried about communists in Cuba mourning the death of Fidel Castro than Cuban exiles in Miami who celebrated the demise of vile and murderous dictator who destroyed the lives of millions of Cubans.

Karla Hernandez-Mats, Democrat candidate for governor Charlie Crist’s reported running mate, Tweeted in 2016 after the death of brutalist dictator Fidel Castron that “many in Cuba mourn” his passing.

“A political figure dies at 90. Most in Miami rejoice, many in Cuba mourn #FidelCastro,” she said on Nov. 26, 2016.

Crist’s questionable pick for a running mate is just another bizarre campaign decision since winning the Democrat primary this past Tuesday. For example, the day after winning the nomination Crist came out and told supporters of Gov. Ron DeSantis he did not want their vote, basically telling 55% of Florida voters (DeSantis’ approval rating) to go pound sand.

As if that were not enough, he then picks as his running mate a union leader who wanted to keep schools shut down during the pandemic, called parents of students “armed monsters,” and who appears more sympathetic to Cuban communists than to Cuban exiles who had to flee oppression and tyranny in Cuba. Add to this Crist’s infamous trip to Cuba where he chummed it up with Castro dictatorship officials, and you have to wonder what exactly is his campaign strategy to win in a very anti-communist and deep red Florida.

By picking Karla Mats (or have some have dubbed her, Karla Marx) as his running mate, Democrat Crist makes it all the more apparent he’s not running for governor to win, but for some other reason.
