Mother in Matanzas, Cuba denounces toxic landfill next to her child’s school

The folks who extoll the communist Castro dictatorship for providing children with “free education” have no idea the regime also provides them with toxic pollution. This is socialism in action.

Cuban mother denounces landfill and toxic waste at primary school in Matanzas

A Cuban mother is denouncing an enormous landfill next to a primary school in Cardenas, Matanzas along with the presence of toxic waste there that can be harmful to the children’s health.

Activists Yamilys Sariego, the mother of s student at the Emilia Casanova Primary School in Cardenas, shared images on Facebook Friday of the waste dump right next to the school. She said raw sewage is running through the dump and warned of the implications that has for spreading disease.

“The country is being hit hard with the dengue situation, which that small group that self-appointed itself as the government has admitted and has confirmed the deaths of several Cubans. State-run media propaganda doesn’t reach here and they can neither control nor provide the minimum hygienic conditions to be exposing children to contamination and epidemics,” said the mother.

Sariego demanded city authorities provide basic sanitary conditions for the children attending the school, which its exterior lacks basic hygiene and provides an ideal site for the infestation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.

  1. It’s not that the have no idea, but that they don’t care. “Free” education, of any sort, is plenty good enough.
