Venezuelan Narco-State Controls 25% of Global Trafficking: It Attacks U.S. with Drugs
A report by the Center for a Secure Free Society reveals that the Cartel of the Suns, led by the regime of Nicolas Maduro, now controls 25% of the global cocaine trade thanks to the help of Cuba, Russia, Iran and China.
The report published on Thursday, September 22nd, states that “years of training in counterintelligence by Cuba, Russia, Iran, and China, gives members of the Maduro regime advanced ability to connect illicit drug networks.”
The study also reveals that the regime has managed to enter its operations in countries such as Colombia and the United States.
According to the report, over the years Venezuela has increased cocaine trafficking to the United States in record numbers.
“By 2010, the Venezuelan drug networks were reported to have exported 10 tons of cocaine a month to the United States. As of 2022, Venezuela is responsible for distributing close to 400-450 tons of cocaine out of the global cocaine market of ~1800 tons. Therefore, the Cartel of the Suns went from a ~1% portion of the global market in 2010 to close to ~25% of the global market today,” the study states.
A “Super Cartel” of the Venezuelan regime against the U.S.
The study by the Center for a Secure Free Society explains that Nicolás Maduro’s regime has created a sort of “Super Cartel” made up of Venezuelan judicial, military, and intelligence institutions that are allegedly in cahoots with extra-regional state actors, such as Iran and Syria, and regional non-state actors, such as the ELN and the FARC in Colombia, along with the Sinaloa and Jalisco Cartel – New Generation (CJNG) in Mexico.
A May 2020 U.S. affidavit explains how the Venezuelan regime worked with Hezbollah and Hamas to launder drug profits and plan attacks against the United States. The regime had weaponized cocaine, flooding American communities with enough drugs to cause instability, addiction, and death.
