Press release from The Assembly of the Cuban Resistance via John Suarez at the Center for a Free Cuba
The Assembly of the Cuban Resistance (ARC) condemns the attacks by a communist mob against a group of demonstrators, including members of the ARC, who were calling for the freedom of Cuban political prisoners in front of the Cuban embassy in Mexico City.
During the protest, a communist and pro-Castro mob attacked peaceful demonstrators with sticks. While the demonstrators called for human rights in Cuba and justice for the victims of the Bahia Honda massacre, the mob shouted communist slogans.
“I want to thank Mexicans for allowing us to be here and protest peacefully. You should be aware of the level of violence used against us just for exercising our universal human rights, like freedom of expression and protest. This violence is ten times worse in Cuba every day. We are here today to ask for the freedom of all Cuban political prisoners, especially the 122 young women who are political prisoners in the Island,” stated Dr.Orlando Gutierrez-Boronat, coordinator of the ARC.
Former Polish president Lech Walesa, who also participated in the protest, sent a strong message to the Castro regime: “Pack your bags and leave Cuba. Cuba is for the Cuban people.” In addition, he said that “as a system, communism is a mistake, a utopia.” The former president and co-founder of the Polish solidarity movement also advocated for the rights of Cuban workers and independent labor leaders who are imprisoned in the Island.
Gee, I wonder if this could be related to the fact that Mexico’s president is a rabid Castro lover. Filthy scum.
But hey, like Mexicans say, “Como México no hay dos.” To which I always add, “Gracias a Dios.”
