
Another year is in the books and as we welcome 2023 and the 20th anniversary of Babalú Blog next June, we want to thank all of you who have supported us and the cause for freedom in Cuba, Here are the top 5 most read articles on Babalú in 2022. #5: Coming in at #5 is Silvio Canto reporting on the deterioration of Democrat-run cities that have adopted “social justice” and the socialist policies that have destroyed entire countries.
#4: Here we learn that the world-famous Movado Watch company is owned and run by the family of a Cuban exile who fled communist Cuba.
#3: At #3 we have a report from Cuba by independent journalists on how due to the failed socialist policies of the communist Castro dictatorship, basic food items such as milk, meat, and bread have disappeared from the Cuban family table.
#2: Our second-most read post for 2022 was an article on Cuban American actor Andy Garcia and his reasons why he will never return to Cuba as long as the Castro dictatorship is in power.
#1: And finally, coming in as the top post on Babalú in 2022 is the news of 95-year-old Cuban American grandmother, Angela Alvarez, being nominated for a Best New Artist Latin Grammy. (She went on to win the award)
