Castro, Inc. has a habit of allowing political prisoners to die from natural causes through sheer neglect. So, what is happening to Lázaro Yuri Valle Roca is not too surprising.
But it is nonetheless barbaric. He’s only one of several prominent dissidents currently battling illnesses under hellish conditions. Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have campaigned tirelessly on their behalf, but Castro, Inc. couldn’t care less. They know they will keep getting a pass on their human rights record from the U.N., the European Union, Canada, and the world’s news media.

The health of independent journalist and Cuban political prisoner, Lázaro Yuri Valle Roca, became complicated again while he remains incarcerated in the Combinado del Este dungeons, in Havana.
As reported by his wife, Eralidis Frómeta, through social networks, the journalist has a tumor growing in his head that has been affecting him severely for several weeks, in addition to hypertension, recently diagnosed.

As has happened since his arrest, Lázaro Yuri Valle Roca not only has to spend his days locked up in a jail without deserving it, but also, and as if that were not enough, they do not provide him with the corresponding medical assistance to treat his health, which has been extremely poor on multiple occasions.
In addition to these strange tumors on his head, the journalist has also suffered from kidney and eye diseases, to the point of being “almost blind”, as reported by his wife.
The arrest of this political prisoner occurred in June 2021. In mid-2022, he was sentenced to five years in prison, accused of the false crimes of “resistance” and “continuous enemy propaganda.”
His grandfather, Blas Roca, was an old-school communist (of color) and probably a “true believer.” Fidel Castro used him and others like him, but as a tool, like he used everyone else, including his brother.
