From our Bureau of Risky Apartheid Tourism in Latrine American Totalitarian Hellholes
Not all of Castro, Inc.’s apartheid hotels are luxury 5-star resorts. But all of them, regardless of star rating, should be considered dangerous.
Today another hotel exploded due to gas leaks, just a few blocks from the Hotel Saratoga, which was totally destroyed by a much more powerful explosion some months ago.
And three days ago a ceiling collapsed on a family that had booked a stay at a low-end hotel in Holguin. Take a look at the photo below. The collapsed ceiling might have been far less hazardous than the mold in the room’s air conditioning unit. Travelers beware. Dream holidays in Castrogonia can always easily turn into nightmares.

At least one person was injured this Monday in an explosion at the Caribbean Hotel, located on Prado and Colón, in Old Havana, caused by a gas leak, according to official media reports.
The wounded man was transferred to the Calixto García hospital and the other guests were evacuated, the state-run Canal Caribe reported. One of the images shared on social networks shows a window without glass on the upper floor of the building.
Consultant and independent economist Ángel Marcelo Rodríguez Pita told Radio Martí’s Cuba al Día program that the installation had “several problems” in terms of “maintenance and repair of everything that has to do with gas pipes” for some time .
This situation, in his opinion, triggered the explosion on Monday, increasing the concern of the residents of the area.
Regarding the repercussions that this type of accident can bring to the tourism sector, Rodríguez Pita pointed out that the explosion “turns on the alarm” about the fact that Cuba is not offering “safe tourism.”
