Castro dictatorship calls on Cubans to attend May Day events on foot, bicycle, or on horses

With no fuel for the buses that usually transport the multitudes of Cubans ordered to participate in May Day events, the communist regime is calling them to ride a horse there if they have to. You can’t make this stuff up.

On foot, on bicycle, or on a horse: This is how the regime expects Cubans to mobilize on May 1st

The secretary of the Workers Central of Cuba, Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, reminded everyone this week that “there will be no transportation” to the meeting points for the May Day Parade and suggested that Cubans should get there on foot, on a bicycle, or using animal-powered transportation.

“The people, the workers, the nation, will mobilize on foot and will put into use the riches of popular initiatives. Which, you ask? Well, our Communist Youth has called out the so-called bicycle teams, [so] let our youth attend on their bicycles,” said the Cuban regime official on the Round Table show on April 25.

Likewise, he added that there were “a number of places, especially in rural areas,” where the people can join the masses “using animal-powered transportation.”

“In other locations they will use electric vehicles [of which] we have available today; and thus there is a multifactor open range of initiatives that will give these acts color, beauty, massiveness … As always, May Day reflects the commitment of the masses to their Revolution,” added Guilarte de Nacimiento.

According to the Cuban regime official, “it is about reasonableness and austerity with the resources missing today.” “I want to reiterate: we want to commemorate in these conditions of reasonableness and austerity.”

For the first time in six decades, the Cuban regime announced the May Day celebrations will take place on Havana’s Malecon and not in the Plaza of the Revolution. According to Guilarte de Nacimiento, the change in venue takes into account the shortage of fuel across the nation.

  1. But of course. Because no matter how miserable their lives may be, they must always serve the “revolution.”
