More Russian officials arrive in Cuba on state visits

It is amazing how after 64 years of making it undoubtedly clear they are faithfully aligned with the enemies of America, there are those who still believe the U.S. can be friends with the communist Castro dictatorship. Either they are irredeemably ignorant, or they’re lying.

Kremlin parade through Cuba continues: the president of the Russian State Duma arrives today

Vyacheslav Volodin, the president of the Duma, the Russian parliament, left on Friday to Cuba to on the first stop of a tour through Latin America, the news agency EFE reports.

In Havana, Volodin will participate in the first meeting of a cooperation commission between the Duma and Cuba’s National Assembly of Popular Power on Saturday, according to a press release by the Russian parliament.

Members of that parliament are addressing laws that promote interchange between the economic, energy, education, agriculture, and tourism sectors. It is expected that Volodin, who is accompanied by several members of parliament and high-ranking government officials, will be received by the island’s leadership, said the press release.

Cuba has already received Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on April 19, who also visited Brazil, Venezuela, and Nicaragua. In the last few months the island has received visits from the Russian Security Council secretary Nikola Patrushev, Cuba-Russia Business Council president Boris Titov, and the executive director of the petroleum company Rosneft, Igor Sechin.

  1. The problem is certainly not ignorance, though I suppose there could be an element of stupidity. It is basically a certain ideology and a corresponding agenda. As for lying, well, that is absolutely routine.
