The communist Castro dictatorship is denying family visits to prisoner of conscience Jose Daniel Ferrer and not even allowing him to receive phone calls. Ferrer’s wife, Nelva Ortega Tamayo, is denouncing the Cuban regime’s inhumanity for scheduling visits for Ferrer to see his children and then denying them entrance once they arrive at the prison.

In an audio recording released on Tuesday, Nelva Ismarays Ortega Tamayo, wife of Cuban dissident and prisoner of conscience José Daniel Ferrer, said “that the harassment against her husband and family continues, denying visits and phone calls in prison”, reported the Cuban Observatory of Human Rights (OCDH).
In the recording released by OCDH, Ortega Tamayo said that on May 5th, she went with Ferrer’s minor children to the Mar Verde prison in Santiago de Cuba for the family visit to which the leader of the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU) was entitled.
“Unfortunately, it was the same manipulation as before: everything was deception and falsehood,” denounced Ortega Tamayo, who was not allowed into the prison to see Ferrer.
Here is the Ortega Tamayo’s statement with English subtitles by Democratic Spaces:
This is yet another example of the cruelty and brutality of socialism.
