China will build electronic spying station on Cuban soil, pay billions to Cuban dictatorship

From our Bureau of Twenty-First Century Neocolonialism with some assistance from our Bureau of Beautiful Friendships Between Totalitarian Hellholes

Here we go. Get ready, this is just the frost on the tip of the iceberg. China has already refurbished the harbor at Santiago de Cuba so its warships can dock there. In addition, China is deeply involved in infrastructure projects throughout Latrine America.

Add Russia to the mix –now that Castro, Inc. has sold the island to Czar Vlad the Invader — and you’ve got an even greater potential for mayhem.

And China and Russia are only two of Castro, Inc.’s new partners in crime. The military junta in Havana has been very busy courting all of the worst enemies of the U.S., signing all kinds of deals and accords. In the past few weeks alone, Castro, Inc. has embraced Turkey and Vietnam. Next week, it’s Iran’s turn to send its president to Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua..

Who’s next on the list? North Korea? Probably. Wouldn’t Little Kim would love to plant some of his nuclear missiles so close to the U.S.?

Abridged from El Guolstriyurna (Wall Street Journal)

China and Cuba have reached a secret agreement for China to establish an electronic eavesdropping facility on the island, in a brash new geopolitical challenge by Beijing to the U.S., according to U.S. officials familiar with highly classified intelligence.

An eavesdropping facility in Cuba, roughly 100 miles from Florida, would allow Chinese intelligence services to scoop up electronic communications throughout the southeastern U.S., where many military bases are located, and monitor U.S. ship traffic.

Officials familiar with the matter said that China has agreed to pay cash-strapped Cuba several billion dollars to allow it to build the eavesdropping station, and that the two countries had reached an agreement in principle.

The revelation about the planned site has sparked alarm within the Biden administration because of Cuba’s proximity to the U.S. mainland. Washington regards Beijing as its most significant economic and military rival. A Chinese base with advanced military and intelligence capabilities in the U.S.’s backyard could be an unprecedented new threat.

U.S. officials described the intelligence on the planned Cuba site, apparently gathered in recent weeks, as convincing. They said the base would enable China to conduct signals intelligence, known in the espionage world as sigint, which could include the monitoring of a range of communications, including emails, phone calls and satellite transmissions.

  1. And the Biden administration? Bien, gracias. There may be some lip service coming up, but that’s about it.

  2. Sixty-four years of tyranny and counting. At this rate, I don’t think that there will ever be a regime change. When you have a greedy mafia with no scruples that takes over a country, its naive to expect them to change, especially since you have a population that with the exception of a few notable and brave dissidents, the masses are content enough to live under the status quo. These are the same people who love the Van Vans and go to their concerts in third countries and who go back to Cuba to visit their families, because its all about la gozadera.
