China, Cuba, and the Biden admin deny report China is building spy base in Cuba

After the release of the Wall Street Journal’s bombshell report detailing China’s agreement with the Castro dictatorship to build a spy base in Cuba, the prospect of having China listening in and spying on the U.S. from just 90 miles away sent chills down the spines of many. As expected, however, both of the communist nations quickly denied the report.

According to Reuters, the Chinese dictatorship is accusing the U.S. of “spreading rumors and slander,” although no mention is made of them actually denying it:

China’s foreign ministry on Friday said “spreading rumours and slander” is a common U.S. tactic, following a media report that China has reached a deal with Cuba to set up an electronic eavesdropping facility on the island.

Of course, Cuba is denying the report as well. But like their fellow communists in China, the Castro dictatorship has at best a tenuous relationship with the truth (via AFP):

The Havana government on Thursday denied US news reports that it has reached a deal for China to set up a spying base in Cuba, just off American shores.

Cuba’s deputy foreign minister said the reports by The Wall Street Journal and CNN were “mendacious and unfounded.”

Rounding out the three government denials is the Biden administration. After the release of the report, the Pentagon denied there is any indication China is in cahoots with the Cuban regime to build a spy base on the island:

The Pentagon on Thursday dismissed a report in the Wall Street Journal about Chinese plans to set up an electronic eavesdropping facility in Cuba, saying it was not aware of any such effort and characterizing the report as “inaccurate.”

“I can tell you based on the information that we have, that that is not accurate, that we are not aware of China and Cuba developing a new type of spy station,” said Pentagon spokesperson Brigadier General Patrick Ryder.

“In terms of that particular report, no, it’s not accurate.”

So there you have it; the three governments involved in this disturbing report are all denying it is true. Perhaps that may allay the fears of some, but for those who follow history, it only makes it worse.

Considering the mendacious natures of China, Cuba, and the Biden administration and their almost identical denials, prudence would dictate the report is definitely true.

  1. With the Biden administration joining Cuba and China in denying the report that China is building a new base in Cuba, we now have a new axis of evil. These three.

How any American can find any reason to vote for Biden is beyond my ken.
