Arrested son of Colombia’s president confesses his father’s campaign received illegal campaign cash

No one should be surprised Colombia’s Gustavo Petro, the Marxist narco-terrorist group leader turned president, received illegal campaign cash from criminals and drug traffickers. You can’t have socialism without corruption.

Via The Washington Post:

Nicolás Petro, the oldest son of Colombian President Gustavo Petro, has admitted to receiving illicit money that went into his father’s 2022 presidential campaign, prosecutors said in a court hearing on Thursday.

Prosecutor Mario Burgos told a judge that Nicolás Petro, who was arrested over the weekend on charges of money laundering and illicit enrichment, disclosed that he had received large sums of money from a Colombian contractor charged with murder, a former senator convicted of drug trafficking and a “powerful” businessman.

In the bombshell hearing, Burgos said Nicolás Petro, 37, revealed that some of the money was used for his personal benefit and to increase his wealth unlawfully. The rest, prosecutors said, went to his father’s presidential campaign.

Everyone knew Petro’s campaign was being funded illegally, but he is a leftist, so the media looked the other way. However, now that his son Nicolas Petro has been arrested for money laundering and corruption and confessed to the illicit campaign funds, the media is feigning surprise and wondering if it can be true.

Of course, it’s true. Petro is and has always been a socialist.
