Catholic Church allows Cuba’s fake dictator to desecrate Felix Varela sanctuary, insult all Cubans in New York and U.S.

Father Varela reacts to hypocritical visit by Trucutú Díaz-Canel

From our Bureau of Heinous Desecrations by Representatives of Latrine American Totalitarian Hellholes with some assistance from our Bureau of Mortal Sins Committed by Perverted Church Authorities

Despite herculean efforts by exiled Cubans to derail this event, Trucutú Díaz-Canel and his entourage waltzed into the Church of the Transfiguration in New York City’s Chinatown to take part in a ceremony in honor of the Venerable Felix Varela. Why did Cardinal Dolan and his archdiocese of New York allow such a vile hypocritical act to take place? Why were no Cuban exiles or dissidents allowed to attend?

You know the answer. More of the same. Why should Cardinal Dolan be any different in his approach to Cuba’s murderous tyranny than Papa Che? Perhaps it was Papa Che himself who made this event possible.

And you can bet your bottom dollar that no requests to free political prisoners or to allow freedom of expression were made of Trucutú Díaz-Canel.

Absolutely deplorable event, and inexcusable. Does this count as a sin? Yes, you betcha. A big one. Very, very big. About as big as a priest sexually molesting a child. Let’s call it what it is: the molestation of an entire nation and a saint on his way to canonization..

Loosely translalted from Diario de Cuba

Miguel Díaz-Canel and a delegation from the regime attended a tribute to Father Félix Varela in New York on Saturday that has generated outrage from the Cuban religious community exiled in the United States.

“In the Church of the Transfiguration, in New York, we honor Father Félix Varela, who 200 years ago arrived in this city. ‘He who first taught us how to think’, wanted #Cuba to be as much an island politically as it was in nature. [sic] and that he owed his independence only to his children,” Díaz-Canel wrote on his account on the social network X.

The fact that the Cuban leader would attend the tribute event was leaked in advance and sparked protests, according to Frank Calzón, founder of the Center for a Free Cuba.

Cuban exiles have pointed out the serious limitations on religious freedom perpetrated by the Office of Religious Affairs of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), in charge of supervising everything that has to do with the operations of the Church, from permits for processions to the purchase of materials to repair buildings or the passports of priests who wish to travel abroad.

The invitation-only event was approved by Cardinal Timothy Dolan.

“It is a sacrilege. The temple of the Church of the Transfiguration (29 Mott Street, New York, NY 10013), is taken over right now by G2 agents who are part of Díaz-Canel’s entourage,” denounced Pastor Mario Félix Lleonart, founder of the Patmos Institute.

  1. First, this is in keeping with established official Catholic Church precedent for dealing with Castro, Inc., not just on the island but outside of it, including the Vatican itself, so we can be anything but surprised.

We CAN be scandalized, but that obviously makes no difference to the responsible parties, just as it hasn’t on repeated prior occasions of comparably abominable behavior. This is an old movie and we’ll see it again.

This is an insult to and a mockery of Varela and all he stood for, not to mention Cuba and Cubans, and a profanation of the church where Varela worked, but do NOT blame Cuba’s designated dictator and his entourage. This is entirely the responsibility of those who COLLABORATED with the designs of atheistic Castro evil, particularly Dolan. There is no excuse except mental incapacity, which is not the problem here.

But again, we should have learned to expect this by now, and sure enough, here it is once more.

  2. Varela wrote that religion cannot serve tyranny as a pretext without first inflicting grave injury upon itself.

Alas, this despicable chanchullo was NOT about Varela, but merely used him as pretext.

    Lord, the disgrace.

  3. I don’t know whether Cardinal Dolan acted on his own or consulted others before approving this shameful travesty, but even if he sought advice, it was bound to be from parties who would not object–starting with “His Holiness.” It seems exceedingly unlikely he’d bother to consult any of “those people.”

But make no mistake, regardless of the details, this is not just on Dolan but on the institution he represents.

Again, what an absolutely appalling disgrace.

  4. No matter how clueless (cough) New York’s Cardinal Dolan might be, Miami’s Archbishop Wenski CANNOT be, and one would think he will duly speak out on the matter, though I am not exactly holding my breath.

We shall see what, if anything, is published in the National Catholic Register, given that it was supposed to send someone to cover the event. Again, even if there’s coverage, I doubt it will be appropriate.

    Lord have mercy.
