Shocking! $38,850 Tesla purchased by Havana couple with residences in U.S. and Cuba

From our Bureau of Real-World Versions of George Orwell’s Animal Farm

Gosh, Mildred, look at this great piece of news! Someone in Cuba has enough money to buy a slightly-used Tesla Model Y! And this is not the first Tesla in Cuba. Several others have been spotted. What makes this one different is that details of the purchase have surfaced.

And, look at this detail, Mildred, the proud owners of this Tesla are Super-Yo-Yos who constantly go back and forth from their US home to their Cuban home. And, in addition, they seem to have guaranteed access to electricity in Cuba, which means that they must be members of the oligarchy.

Wow! I guess this means that there are no longer any tensions between Biden, Inc. and Castro, Inc. Lord have mercy, this signals the start of Obamapalooza 2.O and the official recognition of Cuba’s status as a living version of George Orwell’s Animal Farm where some people are more equal than others!

Ya-hoo, Mildred, let’s celebrate. Quick, break open our Extra Añejo $2,000 bottle of Havana Club’s Máximo, which we bought a few months ago during our lovely trip to Cuba!

A 2021 Tesla Model Y that arrived in Havana in November became the first vehicle of its type to be imported through the first license for the sale of electric vehicles in Cuba granted by the United States government, as revealed by the blog of Cubatrade economic information.

The aforementioned source revealed that the car cost US$38,850 and that it is a 2021 Tesla Model Y long-range, 4-door, all-wheel drive (AWD) sport utility vehicle (SUV) with a range of 317 miles and a Tesla Gen wall connector. 3 (208/240V)

Premier Automotive Export Ltd, a Maryland-based company received the first BIS license and the vehicle was transported from Port Everglades, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 22 by Crowley Shipping, based in Jacksonville. The vehicle arrived at the port of Mariel.

“The Tesla will reside in a private residence in Havana,” indicated CubaTrade, while El Nuevo Herald specified that the owners are a “couple with dual residence in the United States and Cuba.”

The vehicle was exhibited this Friday at a private event at the restaurant owned by the world high jump record holder, Javier Sotomayor.

The event included the premiere of the documentary “Driving towards change” which recounts the adventures of businessman John Felder, founder and CEO of Premier Automotive Export who managed to be the first beneficiary of a license from the United States government to sell electric vehicles to Cuba.

  1. If the owner has connections with the elite he should have no problem getting it recharged. If not, he’s screwed.
