Argentina expecting Cuban ‘agitators’ sent to spark violence at left-wing anti-Milei march

Argentina’s new presidential administration reportedly has intelligence showing Cuban and Venezuelan government agitators are in the country and are planing to participate in an anti-Milei march. The purpose of these agitators is to spark riots and violence during the march in an attempt to sow chaos and turmoil for Argentina’s new anti-communist president, Javier Milei. The tactic is typical of Cuba’s Castro dictatorship, which has a long history of sparking riots and leading violent mobs in different Latin American countries that reject socialism.

Marti Noticias has the report (my translation):

Warnings go out that ‘Cuban and Venezuelan agitators’ will be at the anti-Milei march, Cuba’s Foreign Ministry denies it

In the newspaper La Nacion, Argentine journalist Joaquín Morales Solá warned last Sunday about the presence of Cubans and Venezuelans in Argentina who would incite the first demonstration against President Javier Milei on December 20.

“Confidential information in the hands of Milei’s administration confirms Cuban and Venezuelan agitators are in the country, willing to assist the vandalism of local rioters. They plan to replicate here the extensive social unrest of 2019 in Chile,” the journalist stated.

When questioned by LN+ about this assertion, Patricia Bullrich, Argentina’s Minister of Security, responded, “I prefer not to talk about the issue. These are actions that fall within a protocol that does not allow me to provide that information.” She later mentioned that they are working on the matter.

From Cuba, Eugenio Martínez Henríquez, Director General of Latin America and the Caribbean at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, referred to these comments as “slanderous attempts to associate Cuba with the alleged agitation or preparation of acts of vandalism in the Argentine Republic.”

“I affirm, categorically, that Cuba does not promote, participate in, or execute acts that constitute interference in Argentina’s internal affairs. The narrative seeking to find Cuban culprits for internal situations in Argentina is a failed attempt to find causes where none should be sought,” stated the Cuban official in a video.

Several left-wing organizations in Argentina have called for the demonstration to reject the economic measures announced by the libertarian Milei. Participants must adhere to the new protocol that allows demonstrations but does not permit the closure of roads.
