With the arrest of U.S. diplomat Victor Manuel Rocha, who spied for the communist Castro dictatorship for 4 decades, we still have no idea how much harm has been done to U.S. national security. As an ambassador and high-ranking State Dept. official, Rocha had access to a treasure trove of classified documents, which the Cuban regime could use for its own purposes as well as sell to America’s enemies. As if that were not bad enough, there is also the very real likelihood that Rocha was not the only high-ranking government official working for the Castro dictatorship. There are likely many more who have yet to be discovered.
Because we have yet to assess the damage done by Rocha’s 40 years of spying, three GOP congressmen from the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Michael McCaul, Mark Green, and Mario Díaz-Balart, have written a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken calling for a full investigation (via the Foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives):
House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX), Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Chairman Mario Díaz-Balart (R-FL) and House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken on charges against former U.S. Ambassador to Bolivia, Manuel Rocha, which allege that Rocha acted as an agent of the Cuban regime for decades. In the letter, the Members underscore the seriousness of the Cuban regime’s infiltration of the highest levels of the United States government.
“It is essential to determine the full extent of the damage caused by Rocha’s activities, identify any potential collaborators or enablers, remove from diplomatic, intelligence, and policy-making databases his contributions in regard to Cuba and its allies, and assess the impact on American interests—particularly in the realms of foreign affairs, national security, and intelligence,” wrote the members. “His arrest, charges, and potential conviction must serve as a reminder that the Cuban regime remains an active threat to our interests at home and abroad.”

In the meantime, Democrat lawmakers from Massachusetts continue to shill for the Castro dictatorship, despite the dire threat posed by the communist regime in Havana (via The Hill):
A majority of the Massachusetts congressional delegation is pushing President Biden to remove Cuba from a list of governments that sponsor terrorism, a designation issued in the waning days of the Trump administration.
In a December letter not previously made public, the members panned Trump’s inclusion of Cuba on the State Sponsors of Terrorism list (SSOL) and asked Biden to reverse it.
“It was a vindictive action taken by the Trump Administration in January 2021 as it departed office, and the policy is well overdue for change. In fact, Cuba and the United States have a functioning bilateral cooperation agreement on counterterrorism,” wrote the members, led by Democratic Reps. Jim McGovern and Ayanna Pressley.
All current members of the Massachusetts delegation are Democrats; the letter was also signed by Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey and Reps. Seth Moulton, Lori Trahan and Stephen Lynch.
The Democrats also prodded Biden on campaign pledges to review some of the Trump administration’s sanctions against Cuba.
In their call to remove the Cuban regime from the State Sponsors of Terror list, Democrats are not only ignoring the threat posed by the Castro dictatorship to America’s national security, but also the regime’s ardent and vocal support for Hamas terrorists and their material support of terrorist organizations in Latin America and Spain.
In other words, another typical day at the DNC.
