United Arab Emirates to send gift of $50 million in food to Cuba through Brazil

An unusual burst of generosity from the Arab world is going to help not only Castro, Inc., but also its dear Latrine friend, president Lula da Silva of Brazil. It’s a strange arrangement. The United Arab Emirates has offered to buy 50 million dollars worth of food from Brazil which will be sent as a gift to Cuba. This means that Lula gets to pocket $50 million and Castro, Inc. gets tons of free food (most or all of which will probably go to Cuba’s oligarchs and Castro, Inc.’s apartheid hotels and restaurants). Such a deal! Ka-ching! Buen provecho a todos!

Brazil and the United Arab Emirates will help the Government of Cuba to alleviate the severe food shortage that is hitting the population, thanks to a joint initiative of the three countries that was announced this Monday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX) of the Island.

“A joint initiative is announced between the UAE, Brazil and #Cuba to improve Food Security,” MINREX reported on the X social network.

The publication was replicated by the Cuban ambassador to the Arab nation, Norberto Escalona and cited by the state agency Prensa Latina.

According to Prensa Latina, which also cited the official Emirati news agency WAM, the objective of the tripartite agreement is “to deliver food aid worth 50 million dollars, which will be sent from Brazil.”

Although the Cuban state agency did not specify the recipient of the aid, the Island will be the recipient, according to statements by the director of the Brazilian Cooperation Agency, ambassador Ruy Pereira.

Through this concerted operation, the three countries make public their firm willingness to collaborate together to support the food and nutritional security of the Cuban population, Prensa Latina quoted Pereira as saying.

The money to carry out the initiative will be provided by the Arab Emirates, which, according to Prensa Latina, “will provide financial support to improve the adaptability of food systems and increase investments in projects specialized in the production, distribution and support of food systems nutritious, healthy and sustainable”.

This agreement was announced during the stay of Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz in the United Arab Emirates, where he traveled to participate in the World Government Summit.
