A Russian television network went out of its way to film the training of Castro, Inc.’s “Black Wasp” soldiers, Cuba’s equivalent of the Navy Seals or Green Berets. Why should any Russian be interested in such a 40-minute documentary? Oh, yeah, of course. Ukraine. For all we know some of these these Black Wasps are there right now, or will be there very soon.

Loosely translated from Diario de Cuba

Russian television dedicated a report to the preparation of the Black Wasps, the main elite force of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) of Cuba, which was broadcast on the Zvezda_live13 channel.

The 40-minute material shows the ability of the members of that elite Cuban troop to walk barefoot on barbed wires or remain lying on the wires, while a companion runs over them.

According to the official EcuRed site, “the preparation of these combatants is very rigorous, to be able to combat a possible invasion of the Island.” However, the reporter, who went to Cuba to record the images, highlighted the ability of these troops to carry out acts of sabotage in enemy territory.

The statement, 90 miles from the United States, can be interpreted as a threat to that country, whose Government has tense relations with Havana and even more hostile with Moscow, an ally of the Cuban regime.

The report also shows that the Cuban officer who gives explanations to the reporter about the training of the members of the Black Wasps communicates with him fluently in Russian.

The broadcast of the audiovisual coincides with the appearance of new evidence that the recruitment of mercenaries by the Russian Army in Cuba continued, even after the Cuban Government detained 17 people who were involved in the recruitment of mercenaries to fight in Ukraine in the service From Russia.

The Cubans sent to Russia through this illegal network – from which at least two people involved have already been released – have no military training nor do they speak Russian. Their motivation for fighting in Ukraine has been to escape the misery that engulfs Cuba and try to help their families.

Unlike those compatriots—at least two of whom have died in Ukraine—the members of the Black Wasps are perfectly trained for combat. These elite troops were officially created on December 1, 1986, but before that there were already combat forces such as the Special Destination Groups or Tigers, and the Special Troops of the Ministry of the Interior, according to EcuRed. These groups intervened in the war in Angola in 1975.
