From our Bureau of Communist Musical Chairs with some assistance from our Bureau of Communist Weapons of Mass Distraction
Ding! Ring the bell, comrades. Another top dog has been axed. This time around, the oligarch being replaced is the president of the National Association of Small Farmers. Gotta have someone to blame as food production in Castrogonia goes into a nose dive and Castro, Inc. requests shipments of free food from the United Nations.
In a related move, the Ministry of Truth blamed Cuban dairy farmers for the current milk shortage, accusing them of laziness, incompetence and mismanagement when their lack of productivity is really due to the fact that they aren’t paid enough by Castro, Inc. for the milk they produce and therefore can’t afford to keep their cows well fed and healthy or to repair or replace their antiquated farm equipment. Communism in action, raising lying and blame-shifting into an art form.
Loosely translated from CiberCuba
The Cuban dixtatorship, through the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), ordered the removal of the president of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), Rafael Ramón Santiesteban Pozo, who had been in office for 10 years.
In his place, the PCC proposed to the extraordinary plenary of the organization the appointment of Félix Duarte Ortega, who had been serving since 2021 as a member of the secretariat and head of the Agri-food Department of the central committee of the Communist Party itself, according to the official media outlet Trabajadores.
As part of its “cadre movement” policy, the regime’s leadership considered it necessary to dispense with Santiesteban Pozo and appoint Duarte Ortega to lead and control the food production of Cuban small farmers.
The maneuver is part of the image campaign being carried out by the government of the so-called ‘continuity’ of Miguel Díaz-Canel, which aims to raise the very low levels of approval for his management with “cadre movements” and “corrections of distortions” that, as they proclaim from the Palace, will contribute to “reinvigorating the economy.”
“What is happening today in this extraordinary plenary with the cadre movement is a natural process, which is the translation of the implementation of the cadre policy strategy that we approved at the eighth congress of the Party,” explained Roberto Morales Ojeda, a member of the Political Bureau and secretary of organization of the central committee of the PCC, to the attendees.
Addressing the provincial officials of the ANAP, Morales Ojeda indicated that it was “necessary to pause, recognize the results, and reinvigorate the work.” In that sense, he recalled “what was requested by the leader of the Revolution, Raúl Castro, last January 1st, that each person review what else they can do to respond to the trust placed by the people.”
The Castronoid apparatchiks are entirely interchangeable, so replacements are meaningless in real terms.
Dos gorditos intercambiables. 🙂
