Former Irish President Michael Higgins was criticized in 2016 over the statement he issued on the death of Fidel Castro, in which he expressed “great sadness,” and praised the monstrous dictator as “a giant among global leaders whose view was not only one of freedom for his people, but for all of the oppressed and excluded peoples on the planet’’ Higgins rejected the criticism as “both unsustainable and unwarranted”.

Well . . . it has now been revealed that morally bankrupt Higgins received premium Cuban cigars from King Raul’s private collection as an annual thank you gift from the Castro brothers. Unfortunately, there are many other morally bankrupt human beings who think like Higgins. Far too many. But only a few of them get boxes of super-expensive cigars every year, cultivated, harvested, and manufactured by enslaved savages..

Higgins reviews “freedom-loving” troops in Havana, 2017

Tommy Tiernan has revealed that Michael D Higgins used to receive a box of Havana cigars as an annual gift from Cuba’s Castro brothers.

Tommy recently appeared on the hit podcast of US comedian Bill Burr and the pair got chatting about their love of cigars.

During the interview, Tommy brought up his friendship with President Michael D. Higgins, former Galway TD, mayor and senator. Things only got more outlandish as the tale went on,” Galway Beo reports.

“Everybody knows everybody in Ireland,” Tommy began.

“I’m good friends with the President of Ireland and in the seventies and eighties, he spent a lot of time in Central America and South America.”

He’s a left wing politician and he made great friends with the Castros and he used to smoke cigars and when he got elected president, he’d given them up. The Castros used to send him a box of cigars every year.”

“So he had stopped smoking, but he was very grateful and he used to share them out and one time he gave me a stash of cigars sent over by Raul Castro, Fidel’s brother,” the comedian continued.

“I still have the box and it says ‘from the personal stash of Raul Castro’, they were the most beautiful cigars I’ve ever smoked in my life,” he said. “They were amazing.”

  1. Ah, the live garden gnome, only far more sinister. I suppose he may be a true believer-type, in which case he’s mentally disturbed, but he’s still profoundly disgusting and deeply contemptible.

The best thing I can say about Higgins is that he’s not Spanish, which isn’t much but better than nothing.
