The creators of the critically acclaimed Amparo Experience are debuting a new interactive play and dining experience titled Stephen’s: A love story. The play will premier on October 14 and 21 at Kush Deli in Hialeah and should be an amazing experience.
From the play’s website:
Nestled on the corner of East 16th Street, Stephen’s Deli has been a cornerstone of the community since 1954. As the oldest Jewish-style deli in Florida, it holds a treasure trove of history waiting to be unearthed. Through “STEPHEN’S: A LOVE STORY,” we celebrate the stories of Jewish and Cuban cultures who have lived, loved, and thrived in Hialeah.
A Jewish boy and a Cuban girl meet at the counter of a deli. It’s love at first sight, and the past rushes in, tunneling us back to the people, places, wars, and treaties that brought them to this very moment. Somewhere along the line, an objection to their union, rooted in a decade’s old fugue. Will the couple fuel the fire of the fight, or will the Hava Nagila ring through a buttery media noche? It will be up to you to decide.
