From our Bureau of Inept and Irritating Comparisons
The man responsible for Obamapalooza, the greatest gift ever lavished on Castro, Inc., has suddenly done a complete 180 degree turn. Instead of praising Fidel Castro, as he did when the monster died in 2016, Obama has now invoked the ghost of Fidel Castro in a negative way, comparing his long speeches to Donald Trump’s frequent tweets. Even worse, the crowd being addressed cheered this comparison.
Perhaps for the first time in their entire lives, then, Obama and his supporters have admitted that Fidel Castro was “evil”. This is the only conclusion any reasonable person can reach, given the fact that Obama and all who heartily approved of his comparison think of Trump as an “evil” despot.
Abridged and loosely translated from Diario de Cuba
Former US Democratic president and one of the most popular figures in his party, Barack Obama, compared the speeches of former Republican president and presidential candidate Donald Trump to those of Fidel Castro on Friday during a rally supporting Kamala Harris’ campaign on the Pittsburgh university campus in the crucial state of Pennsylvania. At the event, Obama referred to Trump several times in a mocking tone.
“With Trump, what we have are X-word messages, all in capital letters, diatribes and ramblings about crazy conspiracy theories, endless speeches, a word salad… He’s like Fidel Castro, talking non-stop,” Obama said, drawing a standing ovation from the audience.
At another point in the speech, which could also be a point of comparison between Trump and Castro, Obama said: “There is absolutely no evidence that this man thinks about anyone other than himself.” He added: “Donald Trump is a 78-year-old billionaire who has not stopped complaining about his problems since he came down the golden escalator nine years ago,” the former Democratic president added.
Regarding the comparison with Fidel Castro, it is apt to recall the very different reactions that Obama and Trump had after his death in 2016.
“At this time of Fidel Castro’s passing, we extend a hand of friendship to the Cuban people. We know that this moment fills Cubans, in Cuba and in the United States, with intense emotions, remembering the countless ways in which Fidel Castro affected the course of the lives of individuals, families, and the Cuban nation. History will remember and judge the enormous impact that this singular figure had on the people and the world around him,” wrote Obama, then president of the United States, who was in Havana in March 2016, becoming the first American president to visit Cuba since 1959.
Following Castro’s death, Trump, then US president-elect, wrote: “Today the world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castro’s legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of basic human rights.”
It’s called expediency, and worse, such as, for example, hijeputez. Totally par for the course.
So, Obama, the second worse president of my lifetime so far, puts down Trump, the second best president of my lifetime. and the crowd cheers.
But do let’s return civility to our public speaking.
Don’t you just love it when the projectors of their own faults onto us, do not recognize the faults they own?
The white guy on that ridiculous chair looks like all he needs is a dunce cap. Pitiful.
