Hundreds of Cuban Americans in Miami gathered at the iconic restaurant Versailles to show their glee over a Trump victory in Florida and the rest of the country. With American flags and honking horns, the Cuban exile community in Florida celebrated what many of them see as the defeat of socialist ideology, which destroyed their homeland and threatens freedom in the U.S.
From the iconic Versailles restaurant on Calle 8, which has hosted protests from the exile community and the Cuban community in South Florida for decades, dozens of Cubans gathered to celebrate the victory of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in Florida.
With American flags and those related to the tycoon’s campaign, honking car horns and shouting with joy, the attendees gathered at this significant location in the Cuban diaspora in Miami.
Donald Trump received Florida’s 30 electoral votes with 54.8% of the votes, while Kamala Harris garnered 44.2%, according to U.S. media sources.
