German and Swiss tourists seeking dream holidays in Castrogonia will no longer be able to catch direct flights from their nations. Awwww. How sad. Those direct flights were not profitable. This is yet another sign of the steep decline in tourists and the imminent collapse of Castro, Inc.’s apartheid tourism racket.
Stay tuned. Other airlines are sure to take the same logical step. . . Let’s hope this is only the first of many such stakes pounded into into the heart of Cuba’s apartheid tourism. Much like Dracula or any other vampire, Castro, Inc.’s tourist racket drains the blood out of all Cubans. Once in the grave, it should stay there.

The German airline Condor will cancel its direct flights from Frankfurt to Havana, Varadero, and Holguín, dealing another heavy blow to Cuba’s struggling tourism industry.
“Flight planning and network management for airlines are always based on the principle of profitability. Condor will not offer flights to Cuba next summer but will redirect its services to destinations with higher demand,” a company spokesperson confirmed to DIARIO DE CUBA.
Previously, the German Office for Trade and Investment Promotion in Cuba (AHK Cuba) had announced that there would be no direct air connection between Germany and Cuba “starting in early May.”
According to a statement sent to travel agencies, the last connection to Holguín is scheduled for April 27, 2025, to Varadero on April 29, and to Havana on May 2.
At the end of October, the German Federal Foreign Office advised German tourists to “carefully prepare for travel to Cuba and thoroughly assess the necessity of the trip.”
In the first half of 2024, 36,343 tourists arrived in Cuba from Germany. In the same period last year, there were 37,907, a decrease of 4%, according to AHK Cuba. The loss is even greater compared to 2017, when 243,172 German tourists booked trips to the island. In 2022, only 58,715 arrivals from Germany were recorded.
“The economic situation in the communist island state has significantly deteriorated; the country is particularly affected by constant power outages and supply bottlenecks,” reported the tourism news agency Reisevor9.
The Swiss airline Edelweiss, a subsidiary of Swiss Air, will also cease flights to Havana from Zurich. The last scheduled departure is on May 8.
