Did someone say that people don’t care for those who mock the US flag or anthem?
The answer is yes as NFL ratings confirm.
According to various reports, you won’t be seeing network or ESPN executives doing any dancing in the end zone.
There are a couple of lessons here for the NFL and anyone else who does not respect the public:
First, Americans love patriotic moments. They love to see their flag respected, specially in public events. People who mock the flag or anthem do so at their own business risk.
Second, we don’t want politics in sporting events. We don’t watch games to hear what any NFL athlete, or movie star at The Emmy’s, cares about this or that.
It’s only a matter of time before the people kneeling are owners and advertisers. Yes, they will soon be kneeling begging us to come back! They need us a lot more than we need them.
