Well… excuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me!

Roy Chaderton, the Venezuelan ambassador to the Organization of American States issued a very equivocal apology yesterday for his comment regarding the “hollow” and “squalid” heads of those who oppose the Bolivarian Revolution.

In case you missed it, Chaderton had said in a radio interview that bullets pass quickly through the  heads of opposition members because they lack brains.

“When a bullet passes through their squalid heads,” he said, “it makes a smaller noise, like a click.”

Chaderton was accused of “instigating hate and violence” by the opposition party Voluntad Popular (Popular Will).

Yesterday, when pressed to apologize, Chaderton defended himself by saying: “If I made some well-intentioned people feel bad, I’m glad to offer them my apology, I have no problem with that, but I insist that the real meaning of my comment — which is the most important thing — was aimed at my fellow countrymen who are part of the opposition.”

The Chavista diplomat insisted that his “black humor” was taken out of context,  and that what he was simply trying to warn members of the opposition that their lives would be at risk in case of an invasion by the U.S.

“If I had to say it again, I would,” he added.  («si tuviera que volverlo a decir no lo haría»).

What else can one expect from a Castrozuelan?  His “black humor”  has Castronoid roots.

Legislators in the U.S., led by congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry, demanding that Chaderton’s visa be revoked.
