But this display of solidarity with the most oppressive regime in the Western hemisphere shows once again, for the millionth time, how idiotic leftist thinking can be. Perhaps it shouldn’t even be called “thinking,” since this toothless resolution is little more than a knee-jerk display of leftist virtue-signaling, not much different from a salute to some despotic dictator.

The Municipal Council of the city of Washington D.C. unanimously approved a resolution expressing its support for ending the US economic embargo against the Cuban regime.
The proposal also requested the removal of Cuba from the List of States Sponsors of Terrorism, where it was included before the end of the Donald Trump administration.
Councilman Robert C. White, Jr., presenting the resolution, affirmed that the embargo has had unintended consequences and significant difficulties for the Cuban people, in addition to not having achieved a change in the political system of the Greater Antilles.
“It has had a deterrent effect on the Cuban people, who have suffered from a lack of food, medicine, medical equipment and other necessities,” added White, who also said that “the end of the embargo would benefit the residents of the District of Columbia to through exchange with Cuba, including trips and cultural experiences”.

In any case, they are utterly discredited by this gesture as, at best, pathetic idiots, though I expect they’re worse.
Part of the problem, of course, is the arrogant and bigoted presumptuousness we’re all familiar with, which clearly implies people quite alien to Cuba’s reality and painfully ignorant of its true history still know better than Cubans themselves how Cuba should be handled.
