Cuban state-run media beginning to question Castro dictatorship’s ‘official’ coronavirus numbers

Like their communist comrades in China, you cannot believe a single word that comes out of Cuba’s socialist dictatorship. But the Castro regime’s lies regarding COVID-19 are becoming so egregious, even state-run media is question them.

State journalist points out inconsistencies of coronavirus numbers in Cuba

A Cuban journalist, director of the Tele Cubanacan television program on a channel in Villa Clara, complained on Saturday over inconsistencies in the official numbers from the Cuban government regarding confirmed cases of coronavirus on the island.

Raul R. Ayala wrote on Twitter that the numbers reported by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) are not taking into account confirmed cases in some of the provinces. “Each province is tallying up their numbers locally and coming up with figures based on rapid response tests, which I assume they are doing so without confirmation from the PCR.”

“MINSAP is not publishing official accumulated totals and we’re beginning to see inconsistencies in the figures as time goes by . . . Such is the case in Sancti Spiritus, which today, April 4th, reports 18 cases according to a newspaper in Escambray despite there being no mention of it in official figures,” added the journalist.

Ayala referred to official numbers published this past Friday for April 2nd. “In yesterday’s numbers, April 3rd, which correspond to the 2nd, Sancti Spiritus officially reported only 2 cases (from Taguasco), which in addition to another 14 brings the total to 16 cases. In the April 4th report, which corresponds to the past 24 hours, the figures did not change. Nevertheless, Cubadebate today shows on its map of cases that the province has 17 confirmed cases. The figure is also shown on a map from Juventud Tecnica, which contradicts the numbers from @Invntario that in my opinion have been correct.”
